-
- I believe that we do understand the high costs of development...

-
- OK, here is where I have to jump in and 'de-lurk'....

-
- We, (those pesky 'home users') can't afford many things. You
- just can't seem to understand that the original poster wanted
- to address things that we CAN afford. As he stated, the cost
- of the Gecko as you developed it, is NOT the issue. The value
- is also not an issue. The issue that you missed or were not
- capable to address was:
-
- The Gecko costs more than what a home user wants to pay for
- what a home user wants to do with it!
-
- As the previous poster mentioned, we, the average home user,
- want a device that allows one to view the standard Amiga
- workbench type display on a US $150 vga monitor (Check
- COMPUSA pricing) to enable the home user to view home type
- applications on a home type system. The price point that
- you must aim at to interest the home user is not more than
- double the cost of the monitor or, worse yet, within spitting
- distance of the cost of a good used A3000.
-
- The Gecko is a wonderous gadget but don't claim that it is
- aimed at the home user when it costs almost a much as a used
- A1200 or half to two thirds as much as a new Surfer....
- And don't claim that capabilities and features not needed or
- useful to the home user (excellent tho they may be) add that
- much to the expectation that a home user may buy it.
-
-
- I understood the original poster to be requesting a "home user"
- version of the Gecko. This simple request is still not addressed
- in any of your posts.

-
- That's right, blame the 'Government' for a failure in market
- research.....
-
- >If you have any reservations about our pricing, we specifically

-
- We don't want it 'cheaper', we want a device that only does what
- the original poster requested. Make the 'SuperGecko' an extra
- cost upgrade, if you must.
-
- >I would just have to say we agree to disagree on cost. But
- >for the moment there is no easy solution.
-
- No, we agree on the cost of the device you have developed and
- presented to us. It may be a very good cost but it isn't the
- cost that the 'average home user' is willing to pay.
-
- >BTW, I have traveled to the Far East quite a bit. Thailand is
- >a great place : )
-
- If you like AIDS infected cheap labor....
-
- >We can't get enough quantity to get overseas
- >though. I wish things were more competitive in Europe and the
- >United States.
-
- Whose fault is that?
-
- Cheers
